Thuy Truong is Vietnamese Canadian and came to Canada with her parents when she was less than a year old. She is connected to the Japanese Canadian community through her long-time yonsei partner and fiancée. She has been a dedicated Toronto NAJC volunteer since 2018 when she joined the redress gala committee and more recently was on the after-party committee of the 75th Anniversary Human Rights Symposium. She has a BA in English and women and gender studies from U of T, as well as a diploma in geographic information system (GIS) and urban planning, which has led to her current work in the transportation industry. Thuy spends her free time reading, practicing yoga and muay thai – and most importantly, cuddling with her two cats.
