BC Redress Foundational Events and Communications

On November 15, 2018, a letter was sent to the National Executive Board of the NAJC from President Bruce Tatemichi, drafted by Secretary, Ron Shimizu, requesting Japanese Canadians outside of BC be included in the B.C. Redress initiative.

B.C. Redress Steering Committee Report

In the summer of 2019 an initial report was written by Art Miki (co-chair), Justice Maryka Omatsu (co-chair), Lynn Deutscher Kobayashi, Judy Hanazawa, Les Kojima and Kevin Okabe. The report synthesized the findings of the community consultations held across Canada in the spring and summer.

The Japanese Canadian Survivors Health and Wellness Fund will open for online applications on February 1, 2024 and remain open until March 31, 2025.
