Steven Deutscher-Kobayashi is a yonsei (fourth-generation Japanese Canadian). He has lived in Toronto most of his life and graduated with a B.Sc. in computer science from the University of Toronto (U of T). He has worked in information technology (IT) for more than a decade with a variety of different sized companies as an employee and consultant. When not working, he enjoys hanging out with his partner and two cats (Quill and Tia), watching and playing basketball, travelling, photography and listening to new music. At nine months of age, he was the youngest Japanese Canadian in the House of Commons on September 22, 1988, when the historic redress agreement and apology was announced by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.
